Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error?

MS Word 2004 for Mac not allowing me to save a document (on any drive)?

• Late last year, I downloaded an MS Word template and have changed and customized the content. The computer will not allow me to save the document even on any drive with adequate space (whether my computer's spacious hard drive or external drives). I have even copied and pasted all of the contents into a blank document ... but the same problem arises. (However, it still saves other Word documents). These are the 2 error messages: 1. - This disk is full trying to write to "Macintosh HD". Free some space on this drive, or save the document on another disk. Try one of more of the following: -Close any unneeded documents, programs, and windows. -Save the document on another disk. 2.- Saving the AutoRecovery file is postponed for "filename.doc". -Things that I remember doing in this session: Text; Highlight text; Page breaks; Bullet and number lists; Edit bullets; Anchors and links within the document; Page breaks. -Other Contents: photos; tables; different font styles SOME MORE DETAILS: FILE PROPERTIES: Microsoft (MS) Word 97 - 2004 document PROGRAM: MS Word 2004 for Mac. Version 11.6.0 (100702) COMPUTER: Apple Mac OS X. Version 10.5.8 Last year, I could not close down the file or computer for about 4 days before finally finding a solution to avoid losing information but I can not remember what I did at that point. What is inside the document that is causing these problems? I have been working throughout the file and will not be able to remember all of the work that I have been doing before trying to save. HELP !!!

  Copy all of the content over to a new file, see if that is a viable workaround for the problem.
