How can I reset to factory defaults without recovery CDs?
-
I have a Gateway Model GT5676 and I have so much stuff on my computer, I would like to just reset it all. I have Vista Home Premium 64-Bit SP 1. I don't have any recovery CD's so I would love a way to reset that doesn't require those or to buy them.

Answer:
It more than likely has a restore partition built in to the hard drive. The only question is which key you would press while booting to access it. You could find out by trial and error. Boot up while tapping the F! key and work your way through until you get an option to restore to factory settings. Make sure you back up any important files before you start.
