How do I burn my iMovie project onto a disc?

Help me burn an IDVD movie to a disc (Mac Users) Please Help!?

• I have spent days working on a video on iMovie and now I am ready to burn it onto a disc. For some reason it isn't letting me share it to anything. It won't let me export it into my files, Itunes, using Quicktime player, or anything else and says "The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred. (-50)". So then I tried making it into a movie on iDVD and it worked but it still won't let me burn it onto a disc. When I try and burn it from the iDVD application it starts to process the DVD and shows it will take 40 minutes to do so but after about 5 minutes it says it can't process it. I guess I have no idea what i am doing but I really really really need this movie burnt onto a disc to send off to a college for an application. Nothing is working so if anyone can help me diagnose this problem it would be much appreciated. Thank you!!!!

  Is this of any help? http://support.apple.com/kb/TA22339?viewlocale=en_US Make sure that any files/video/pictures/audio that you have added to your project contain no illegal characters in their file names: ?/"+- etc. Best, Z.
