Free Internet Usage Tracker?

Is this the correct way to calculate how many MB I'll need for internet?

  • Looking at a new internet service, trying to decide which plan to get. Used my husband's internet today for 5 1/2 hrs to track my usage, but it came up a ton. Wondering if I did something wrong. For 3.5 hrs this morning (using youtube most of the time), usage was: upload data 15.99 mb, download data 646.16 mb. Then, after resetting the usage tracker, 2 hrs this afternoon - upload data 1.86, dwnload 9.07 (no youtube). Since I work around 5.5 hrs per day, I added all the mb (upld and dnld), multiplied by 5.5 days per week, and by 4 weeks per month, comes to 14807 mb. Is that right? Only the unlimited plan would work. Too expensive!! (I do use youtube for work, but not always. It varies quite a bit.) thank you very much for any help.

  • Answer:

Yeah, that seems about right, if anything it may be a little low. Im on a 200GB (200,000MB) a month plan and I always use 90%+ of it, but I do use it for work and downloading very large files. Im with BigPond and the plan costs around $100 a month.
