How to transfer files via Ad Hoc connection?

Transferring files from one computer to another....?

  • I've been trying to set up a network to transfer files from my computers, and to who ever feels like connecting to my computer over the network and access what ever they like... only those who have the password for it thou. Tried the homegroup with windows 7, however it didn't seem to work... and now i'm trying to set up a ad hoc network, so people can access files no matter if my computer is connected to the internet or a router. Problem i'm having is that people can access my computer, however they can't see any files, only my hard drives, which is set to share all files and folders.... Anyone know how I can set one up, or any ideas on how to go about this.... Would be greatly appreciated.

  • Answer:

    1. create a new folder 2. right click and go to sharing 3. type in a share name and click apply now drag any files you want to share in it. to view from another computer, open libraries go to network and select the computer with the file you just made. it should show up.
