Why can't I call on windows live messenger?

Why can't i make a video call?

  • i have windows live messenger and a webcam and everything but i can't make a video call... the other person is offline but still aren't there supposed to be a video call icon in the option? or am i wrong? and is there another way to make a video call by accessing in msn.com? thanx)

  • Answer:

You need to send an invitation to the contact, and have them accept it. Another window will open with options to IM or to Video call. The other person must be online and available to have an IM conversation or video chat.

It might not be an option but have you considered gmail and their video chat ? as a test. http://www.google.com/chat/video Or possibly yahoo is more appealing, http://messenger.yahoo.com/ I have both and they work amazingly well. http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-pictures/cant-make-a-video-call/456ef07e-8d02-4a1c-a332-ae7eb1a194fe
