I don't want to loose contents and materials on these web sites, how do i save or download all its content and web pages EASILY so that i can have access to it even after they destroy all the info.

You can save pages to your computer with all web browsers, as far as I know. But also, you can ask IE (Internet Explorer) to add things to your Favorites and make it available offline and choose how many links deep it goes. Problem is, it tends to be fairly slow getting the files down and also it puts the files in with your temporary stuff, which means either you then have to copy the right files somewhere else or you have to open the files while working offline and save them anyway to avoid losing them if you clear your temp files. If you did decide to use the "Make available offline" feature, clear your temp files first if you intend to copy the files for safe-keeping - you can assume everything is from what you just downloaded. I suggest just wandering around the site and listing what pages are there and then saving them all into their own folder. All the files needed will be saved, pictures, style sheets, etc. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/mobility/learnmore/offlineviewing.mspx I had to go and do something while I was writing this and saw your addition after I hit Preview - perhaps Offline is your best bet but will be quite slow. But if the site has that many pages, unless you have good reason to think they are going to pull it down, it's not too likely. Something else I thought of is to try changing the http:// to ftp:// and see if you get a list of files in a folder. FTP access might be denied but if not, you could at least get a list of pages. I just tried saving a page by right-clicking and choosing "Save target as..." but it looks like you only get the page, no pictures or style sheets or anything else. There *are* bots that can download a site but it's frowned upon hugely by most people. Is there any chance that if they intend to close the site, they'd be willing to give you a copy of it, as long as you agreed to only to use it for yourself?

<correct. If it's worth it to ya , you could save the images seperately. Both FF and IE have (under File/ I think) a "Work Offline" option. Some news freaks for ex., will go to their fav newspaper site and dl the news, then take their laptop on the train and read on the way to work. To use Work Offline, you must Synchronize first, go read about it in help--I don't use it, so don't know about it.

Click alt (brings up IE options [file, edit etc]) press File > Save As... And you can save the web page. Although, if they delete the site, images may not work any more, but the text would still show. Also, any links and URLs would not work. So save those pages! -Matt

an information website that may be destroyed? Sounds like maybe the info from the site might not be something you'd want to have.....but I could be wrong. Why would you fear the site is going to be taken down? There are systems in place that even if a site "goes away" you can still pull up the pages....there's something called wayback that caches every webpage out there and stores it, so you can go to any sites wayback and pull up all the content that was there on a certain date....pics and links that aren't online anymore don't post but text does.
