How To Play Asf Files?

Why can't I play .avi video files?

  • Okay, so when I try and play avi video files in windows media player they do not work. The video opens up as if it's about to play, but stays at 0:00 and won't move or play...yes, even when I press the PLAY button. The files also will not open in DivX player, the same thing happens. I tried playing a similar file to see if it was just that one, but another file with the same codecs and everything also didn't play. I put the file into Gspot, and it told me I have the right codecs installed 0x2000 (Dolby AC3) AC3 and XviD 1.1.2 Final The files also go along with an srt file for subtitles. The video and subs play just fine though WIndows Media Classic.. I would just prefer to use the regular windows media player, and not have to go out of my way to watch my files. So...please help. I can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere else..

  • Answer:

Try installing the K-Lite Codec Pack.
