Why can't my windows create the path for the hosts file ? ?
-
I am trying to block some sites. I found the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC and entered the sites into the list, then tried to save and it says that it cannot create the path. Does anybody know what's going on ?

Answer:
You should have a hosts file already, which will be all but empty. The bottom line should currently be: 127.0.0.1 localhost Under this add 127.0.0.1 leave a space and then add the website name you want to block. Keep repeating for all the websites you want to block. Then save. Should work fine. It sounds as though you may not have actually opened your hosts file.
