How to edit pictures on the computer?

  • I want to learn how to edit pictures. People always have cool black and white pictures, or certain things in pictures color, and the rest black and white. I was wondering how you do that.Is there a website that I could do that on? I want to try my hardest not to have to download anything, or buy anything.

    For a beginner, I would recommend Photo! editor. It's the simplest thing to use (mainly photo editing) and it's totally free : http://pho.to/editor/download.php . But you have to download it. I haven't use picnik or any online editor yet but if it requires registration and all, I prefer not to. Some more, having your own installed editor in your pc is a lot better in many terms. - Sorry, I missed that "certain things in color, and the rest black and white". Well, with Photo! Editor, it can't be achieved but with Paint.NET, it can. I've used it numerous time (changing certain parts to black and white while some in colors) and it's totally free too : http://www.getpaint.net/

best software to use is Adobe Photoshop and trust me its worth it. I'm a hardcore graphics designer and i use photoshop alot. There are some free image editing programs that let you do stuff like that. GIMP and Paint.net come to mind. picnik.com is great, but don't get too attached, because it's shutting down in April. I use it and it has some really cool features, and the premium stuff is free until they merge with Google in the spring.
