How do I loop through many files in one folder?

Pulling multiple files from mutiple folders and putting them into one folder?

  • I have a lot of movie files in multiple folders. I want to be able to pull all of the files out and move them to one folder without doing it one by one. The "search for extension" trick won't work because not all of them have the same file extension, is there a software that will allow me to highlight all the folders, right click and choose an option to move all the files in the folders to one folder?

  • Answer:

You could do it if they are in the same base folder, but if that's not the case, it would be easier to do it on its own. If you knew a good scripting language, you could do it, but you'd have to learn it to do this, and that'd hardly be worth it for this set of operations. edit: Ok, you can try the utility in my source if you're using windows. Or if you want, there are several options to do it from the command line, but I don't know what OS you use, or your comfort with that, so unless you want to do it that way, I wouldn't bother.
