How to convert to MP3 from Audacity?

URGENT!! Audacity software help!! How do I open .au file using quick time or real player and convert to a mp3?

• Hello everyone, I am not computer savvy at all, as you can tell. I have someone recording a testimonial for me using audacity software. She recorded it, but I couldn't open it. So I researched and saw that .au files can open in quick time and real player. I have quick time on my computer. My question is: How can I open up her two files in .au that I saved to my desktop in quick time? And real player? And does anyone know how I can convert this message to a mp3 (I don't have a lame encoder or know what it is---that was the message audacity software gave her for trying to import to an mp3).   OK the best way to send attachments in an email using audacity is to export the file as a wav format. WAV files can be played on most audio players. Sorry for the confusion on my earlier post. Also if you want to convert the wav file into a mp3 file, go to www.download.com and look around for a converter. The one that audacity uses is just to much trouble. Hope this helps.
