How To Reformat The Computer?

Had to reformat computer and now have iPad sync problem. How to fix this?

  • Not sure how to proceed. Computer got virus last month and had to completely reformat computer from Vista to Windows7. Had to reinstall everything and now when I went to sync my iPad, iTunes told me I was not authorized on this (reformatted) computer. Did not have a back up of iTunes. I re-authorized this computer to make it valid but if I sync my iPad with it, it looks like I will lose everything. Does anyone know how to get around this without losing ALL my data?? I have DiskAid but don't how best to use it (just got it and am thinking it will only work for my music which I have little of - more concerned about my data). If you know what to do/how to solve this problem, please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

iTunes wont allow you, because its scum and likes to piss you off. If you attempt to sync it, it will delete EVERYTHING, as is the Apple way. Lucky for you, there are plenty of programs that will happily take everything off your iPad, and place it nicely elsewhere. Then you re-sync, add everything back, install some anti-virus, and never let a "professional" claim they need to re-install windows, because they do it for the lolz. http://ipad-transfer.com/guide/backup-ipad-without-itunes.html I didn't read much of it - but it seems to be what you need. Sorry if it isn't, I'm not used to having to back-up anything but music with my apple devices.
