.rar file to .zip conversion?
-
I have downloaded a .rar file on my Mac that I need to archive to see the files inside. How am I able to properly convert this .rar file to a .zip? If I just change the extension from .rar to .zip, it becomes <file name>.zip.cpgz, and that doesn't work :/ any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Answer:
Files are never converted by renaming. Change the name back to .rar and double-click it. That will extract it. If you want to archive it, right-click and choose "Compress".

.rar is a different type of compression. Try win rar or my personal fave rar extract frog to decompress.
