How to do a screen capture of non-Windows screens?

• I need to get screen shots of a Windows PC's BIOS screens as as well as screens running other operating systems from time to time. Is there a way to do this, short of snapping a picture using a digital camera? Optimum would be a splitter device that allows the screen image to go from the server to the screen and also to my laptop so I could capture the screen shot there. Any splitter device would probably also need software for my laptop to be able to do the screen capture on the incoming image. Anybody have a solution?

  The only way I think it could be done is to LAN two computers together either directly or through a router interface and make sure to share the monitor in the network so that the active computer can take a screen of the bios of another. I have never tried this but this seems like a worthy starting point. Consult an IT professional, they have to do such functions on a regular basis.
