How do i know which cookies to delete?

Does anyone know how to delete cookies on a dell computer and what are cookies?

  • Hi! I have two computers a dell and a vaio laptop. I want to start using my dell again but it's being ridiculously slooooooooooooow. So I'm trying to delete files and useless programs, but it's still being sloooooooow. So one of my friends told me to delete the cookies... ok I'm not gonna lie, but I have no idea how to do that. ... and please don't make fun of me, but I don't even totally get what that means. Thank you sooooo much! =D

Hey don't worry about asking questions! That is the way we learn. When you have your internet explorer open, go to Tools, Internet Options, General Tab. Half way down you will see Browsing History and you have a choice to "Delete". I would also recommend that you click on Settings and put a check by "Every time I Visit the Web" (you don't need your web to be updated unless you are going to them and it just slows the computer down if you update automatically or whenever IE is opened). Hope this helps. I also recommend that you Defragment your system. I prefer to do it once a week but for many that is too often. Set it up as automatic and you don't have to worry about it. Have a great day!

Easy! If you are looking to clean up your computer/lab-top. Go to your start menu, click on search- Files or folders, type in Command Prompt, a black box will pop up with a blinking under score line like so-_ Type: exe*.* That will clear all files, folders and unwanted junk stored on your devices. That will also crank up the speed with out having to hastle with downloading programs and adding more junk files that you dont need which is taking up space to allow your computer to have its speed. Good luck!

Cookies are files stored on your computer after visiting websites. HTTP cookies, commonly referred to as Web cookies, just cookies, are basically groups of text sent by a server(that's you) to a web client(that's them)(usually a browser) and then sent back unchanged by the client each time it accesses that server. So In english, a website is saving your information. This info is stored on your computer. (which bogs it down, makes it dumber and slower) To delete them access you control panel which is under your start menu. Select Internet Options: Under general tab there should be several options for deleting browser history and cookies and things that may slow your computer. Hope this helps :)

Cookies are just information that websites save on your computer so they don't have to ask you things every time you visit. You can download CCleaner and it'll clear up cookies and other cruft that builds up on a computer over time.
