Can someone please explain to me what is wrong with my computer?

  • The problem is that it won't write CDs or DVDs. However, it does read them. So can someone please explain to me why this happens? Some people told me that it might be from the Windows, which is Vista by the way, but I don't know, I'm not really good at these things. Thank you for your help.

    the reason should be that your DVD writer's lance not working properly. if its warranty or guarantee ( whatever ) period is not expired then go immediately to the vendor otherwise i will tell u how to clean it ( or you can contact to an engineer for this )

Sometimes CD/DVD drives need to have their firmware updated. Check with the manufacturer of the drive and see if they have firmware updates. If so, apply the update and then restart your computer.

Make sure that you have a CD/DVD writer, not just a reader. Readers can't write. (If you have to replace the drive with a writer, good ones are under $100.)
