What are "thumbnail" files?

.Mp4 video files have thumbnail, how to do it with .avi?

  • I have a huge (roughly 200) collection of movies on my hard drive. The majority of them are in .avi, but there are a select few in different formats. I noticed that the ones in .m4v and .mp4 have the movies promotional poster as the thumbnail, which looks great. All the .avi files thumbnails just have a frame from the video as the thumbnail. Is there anyway to change what Windows uses as the thumbnail so I can make them all have the movie's poster? Sorry if that sounds confusing, I couldn't think of a better way to word it. Anyway, thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

You better use some movie organizer program like All My Movies and your video files will be in a perfect order and look nice :) Here is the link to All My Movies: http://www.bolidesoft.com/allmymovies.html By the way, you can start the movie playback with single mouse click in All My Movies and that is awesome!
