Why does my computer turn off for a few seconds?

If my computer turn on for 60 seconds and than turn off after that why? if it's a toshiba satellite 1415-s115?

  • Answer:

the motherboard could be damaged. make sure there is not a floppy in the drive and remove any CD/DVD from the drives as well and try a reboot. your bios could be corrupt and reset would tell you further. your fan could be dead. do you hear it turn on with the pc? most pc's will power down if the fan is not detected. go into the BIOS and set the fan to always on or a realy low temp so it'll turn on @ bootup. if it dosent upon these changes then it could be a bad fan. check your memory and make sure it is inserted and not loose. if you have 2 sticks remove one and test if the stick is bad then try another. remove the batterey and plug pc into power supply if it boots then your battery is dead. it could be so many things. most likely the motherboard crashed and needs replacing. did you leave the unit on inside of a case or something? good luck

maybe the battery is having issues...make sure it's charged up are you doing anything else? for example do you have programs set to open when the computer turns on? maybe they could be crashing your computer

My guess is, 1. Hardware or Software Issue/error. 2. Probably you have that computer running on battery and battery is used up. 3. If power plug is connected to your notebook, probably not getting juice to your computer. 4. Probably your power saving setting for your computer is setup to turn off or go suspend mode after 1 min of non-activity etc.
