How do I solve a DNS error?

Email after DNS change?

  • I'm moving website hosting to a new company and keeping mail at the old hosting company. I moved the name server to the new company since I don't have access to change the DNS record at the old company. I changed the MX records at the new company DNS to point to the old hosting company, and the email is getting there, but I'm getting an error from the email server saying it can't find remote.mycompany.org. I'm guessing that remote.mycompany.org is an internal server at the old hosting company that now can't be found since I've changed the DNS to the new hosting company. Tech support at the old company is not available (one person shop and he has not called us back for over three months). Any ideas on how to solve this issue?? Thanks.

  • Answer:

This seems to be the case to contact internic or the people in your country that rules on domain name registration... There are procedures set to recover access to your DNS and MX records in cases like this... [Antonio Feitosa]
