How do I restore my computer from before?

• I really need help with this one. I am on my mac right now and I am pretty sure I messed up my dell computer thing. My internet wasn't working and when I logged on to my desktop it had a black background and said that I had something wrong with my computer. No viruses though.. so I put in the windows vista ultimate cd again and i just let it restore my computer and just make it all new again and big problem! It put everything in windows.old and i really want everything back. my firefox, the virus cleaners, and everything! i tried to system restore but it just wouldn't go back that far. i want everything to be as it was before i put that cd in and all the desktop users to be restored and everything that was put in the file 'windows.old' to be back. pleasee help and sorry if i wasn't too detailed but i am in a rush to fix that computer because it stresses me out when i look at it! im the only one to fix it and im 14 so be specific. best answer gets 5 star.

  After Windows is updated, even the very least little bit, it doesn't match the DVD version, so you can't install over. When you start the installation, a message appears that explains that Windows already exists on this drive, and it will change the existing Windows folder to Windows old. You might not have read all of that... well, I'm almost certain you didn't, based on your surprise. The way to get "everything back" is to install, just the same way you got them before. Undoing a system installation is not an option. Might as well ask how to undo a haircut.
