Why does my computer restart when playing games?

Please Help!! Computer restart while playing games?

  • i have a geforce9600GT and my computer restarts when i try and play games with high graphics... the card is NOT overheating and i have all the GPU settings on low. i would like to know what could be wrong.. i have the latest drivers for sound card and my video card.. i play WoW and it used to restart but i turned all the graphics on low and it doesnt anymore and same goes for call of duty 4, but now im trying to play lord of the rings the battle for middle earth and even on low i get into the game and it restarts...please give me all possible reasons why it would do this. if you have any questions i will email you. thanks.

    Either its overheating, or you need a bigger PSU.

look it is not from the game make scan anti virus on your hard and chang the windows just that

Sounds like a lack of ram.

This happens because of a hardware conflict. I would go thru your other hardware to see if they are all updated and then try again. Hope this helps.

Sounds like something is overheating when placed under load. Make sure all your fans are clean and not covered with dust first of all. Then, take your side panel off and direct an external fan to blow air on the motherboard and see if it still restarts. My first guess would be the video card as the culprit, next would be your memory, and last would be the CPU.

ram and your graphics card might be an older one. Newer games need higher ram on them too. So i would say time to update the ram,card and probally the cpu. For games you need atleast a 2ghz pentium 4 computer with atleast 1gig ram
