How do I burn a dvd from a disk image?
-
I have a mac running OS X Tiger (10.4). I have a copy of a dvd that I want to back up because my daughter sometimes scratches up cds and dvds. I used Disk utility to create a disk image, but it is 5.5GB. The dvd-r's that bought are only 4.7GB. I am not sure if my mac has double layer capabilities. I did try to use a dvd+rw disk, but that didnt work either. Is there any way to make the disk image smaller, or create a disk image with some of the stuff left off of the dvd?

Answer:
You will need a compression program. I hesitated to answer due to me knowing little about mac OS's. I would do a search on google (or whatever) for compression programs. If your mac is relatively new, I am sure it can handle burning dual layer DVD's. ...good luck
