Answer:
to put it simply, they are those files you add at the top of the program with # as prefix.. the most commonly used header files are iostream.h ( Input Output stream) and conio.h (CONsole Input Output).. they contain the definitions for cin , cout and clrscr functions.. Basically the header files contain the definitions for pre defined functions used through out the program
