Where can i find it on a keyboard?

Where can I find the quietest keyboard (and try it out before I buy)?

  • Hello everybody. I am driving my flatmate crazy with my typing noise. I currently use a Microsoft Natural Optical Keyboard. I really like it and the wave/ergonomic design. However the sound from they keys is too distracting for her. I am quite a fast typist too so I know that is an issue also. I've been reading about scissor switches, membrane and the like. Please do not recommend rubber/roll up or infra-red keyboards, there are useless for a fast, 12-hour a day typist like myself. First of all can anyone recommend a truly quiet/silent keyboard model/brand that is ergonomic/wave type and is NOT like a laptop keyboard (narrow, makes my back hurt)? And can anyone also recommend somewhere in London, UK where we can physically go and try the keyboards before we buy (other than PC world, it only has the major major brands)? I cannot affor to buy more than one. Thank you all for your assistance!

    Try the Microsoft Silent Multitask Office Keyboard. It is a keyboard that is about 36cm x 15cm keyboard. It is a one that came after the Natural Optical, and it is very quiet, mostly because because the pads used to stop the currents in the key board are made out of silicon. It is very light, and the maximum speed you can type it is 75 756 100 974 characters per minute. It took 3 years to design and it is available almost everywhere. Not so sure in the UK, though. I'm in Canada here, so I can try it and buy it at Future Shop or Best Buy. Good Luck!

There is no such thing as a silent keyboard. The only way you could type silently is if you type very very slowly pressing one key at a time - something like a Ferrari going 10 mph. You'll have to make an arrangement with your flatmate so you are not in the same room while you are typing
