CD-R = Can be used just once CD-RW = Data can be erased and used again in future.

Both will do. A CD-R will allow you to write/record one time only, while CD-RW will allow you to write, erase, write again many times. You will also need a CD writable 'disk drive' on your PC or Laptop to record or put audio clips.

Do not use RW as these are unstable. A cd-r is cheaper and will not cause problems...you can use them for anything. CD-RW stands for Re Writable...not read and write. You can re-use them and thats what makes them unstable!

Yeah like others have said. They will both work just CDR stands for CD Recordable meaning you can only use it once, so if you want to be able to edit the content you cant, but a CD-RW means CD Rewritable allowing you to edit the content of the disk even after burning data to it. I find it alot more conveinent as you can delete files from it you decide you do not want anymore and thus freeing up room for files you do want unstead of the files you dont want just sitting there not being of any use. Tho if you are wanting to burn these audio files so that they are playable via a CD player or your computer then you want to burn these files using a program such as I-tunes or another audio player, otherwise it will just be the audio file on the disk and it may not play. Tho this will not be an issue if you are not using it for this purpose.

You can use both. However, more players are compatible with CD-R.

Either of those will work. The difference in a Cd-R and a Cd-rw is that when you write to a cd-r it is permant and can not be used again. A cd-rw can be erased an new information written on it. Kind of like the on the old audio tapes where you just record over it. Advantages over the old audio tapes is that the quality of the cd doesnt deteriorate. Ususually Cd-rw cost more though. I usually just buy a big spindle of cd-r and if i get tired of the stuff on a cd I junk it or give it away and make a new one.

thumpergirl_1979

both, the diffrence is cd-r cant be rewritable but a cd-rw can.

Both will work however with the CD-RW you will be able to change the cd add or remove files as you like. Where as once you write on the CD-R it is done you need a new one to do other stuff.

While I agree that cd-r/cd+r is better than cd-rw/cd+rw, would a dvd-r/dvd+r be better for video clips? They would also hold more clips.
