What is December 31, 1969?

It's a date I keep seeing everywhere. On Ebay I always get emails from this date. Sometimes my date is set to this. Youtube's account was made on December 31, 1969? Also, if you look up December 31, 1969 7:00 PM on YouTube, hundreds and hundreds of results come up. WHY?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix_time I'm guessing that their clock is set to 0 or maybe a negative number, so it shows up as one day before Unix Epoch, which is Jan. 1st 1970. Those videos on youtube all seem to be from android phones, so I'll bet that android had some time problem, and so when it uploaded a video with a date for a title, thats what you get, one day before epoch.
