What's the difference between visual and printed media?

Whats the difference between avid liquid and avid media composer?

  • whats the difference between these two programs

  • Answer:

These are two totally different programs, which achieve mostly the same thing. Composer is an Avid designed product. Liquid was first designed by Fast a Munich based company. Fast was bought by Pinnacle, this is when the Liquid product name was introduced. Avid then bought Pinnacle. Liquid spans from professional through to broadcast use. If you've seen the Avid Liquid packaging it looks quite consumer'ish, however it is a broadcast quality product with file transfer capability for both Sony XDCam and Panasonic P2 products. All analog I/O is covered as well as DV and HDV. Import/Export of virtually all file formats is also included. Avid Composer is similar, but lacks nice things such as on timeline DVD authoring and surround sound mixing. Avid for a long time was deemed to be the industry standard, so if you wish to work in the broadcast game, knowing how to drive an Avid Composer would be beneficial. If you want to make great videos and DVD's, then I'd strongly suggest Liquid. There are three versions, Liquid, Liquid Pro and Liquid Chrome XE. All are the same software, the I/O capabilities are the difference. Hope this helps, John.
