Why can't I change my password in Tumblr?

My tumblr says I have to change my password but it won't send me the email. Help?

  • I was on tumblr, closed my laptop for not even half an hour without logging off, came back and tumblr said they've detected suspicious behavior on my account and I need to reset my password. They won't send me the email to reset it though and every time I try to go to any tumblr it says the same thing. What can I do?

    I'm getting the same thing. :( I tried resetting my password from the log-in screen and that didn't even work. I really hope this is worked out. I don't understand how my blog can be flagged as suspicious....I looked on the page itself to see if anyone had posted anything, and it's the same Simon Pegg gif I reblogged the last time I was on. I don't understand why this is happening. D: EDIT: Send an email to support@tumblr.com. I got a response pretty quickly and it sent me right to resetting my password and it worked. Hope it works out for you!= Jo

You're definitely not the only one. Not receiving an e-mail either. and it's not working on either browsers, even when I try resetting our password. No email

Same thing just happened to me. I answered an anonymous question and the security notice popped up. I've reset it twice, still waiting on the email. ):

Did you check your spam inbox? They might have sent you email but it might be filtered as spam. If you didn't get email in spam box contact tumblr staff at staff.tumblr.com

It sounds to me like maybe you guys got "phished"...why are you all having this same problem? The claim in the email is a typical phish tactic. If I was you, I'd change my password for real. You may not have been on Tumblr at all...but on a Phishing site. Do NOT use any link in that email. Use your own link to access your Tumblr account...follow directions for a reset. Just my 2¢ because I have seen AMAZING emails from my bank that I suspected for some reason, and they were Phish mails, but they looked identical to the emails I get from my bank. (The sending info didn't match)...so, I know how real these things can look! If you already entered your personal information, maybe you should do it this way to make sure. I'd do it right away before getting hacked.
