How do I erase my internet history?
-
I am trying to keep tabs on where my son is going online, he is still young enough that I don't have to be super sneaky, lol... what I do is I just click on the drop down arrow next to my address bar and see where he was. Well, I need to clear that so he can 'start fresh' I guess is the best way to describe it. Normally, I would go into 'tools' and 'internet options' and erase history and that would do it, but I have tried everything and can not get rid of the history so now it is just bugging the crap out of me, lol... Other than how I described above... how can I erase my internet history. Thanks!!!

Use CCleaner, it deletes your cookies and history: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000-2144_4-10315544.html Click on the Cleaner Tab on the left and under Windows tick all boxes in Internet Explorer. If you save your username/passwords untick 'Autocomplete Form History' and under System tick all boxes except the last 2, and leave Advanced all unticked. Then click on the Applications tab and tick all apart from Saved form information if you use Firefox and save your username/passwords Click on Options then Settings and under Secure Deletion mark the Secure file deletion (slower) and use the drop down to select Guttman (35 passes) Please note that some files are 'locked' but will be removed on shutdown.

if you use IE7 then you adjust the settings to suit as to delete history on exit. Google chrome on the top right an icon of a spanner go there and click delete history (Google chrome is 3 times faster then internet explorer) don't bother with free down loadable programs to clean history as most include cookies and active X controls that allow spam etc into your computer and they are are then paid by the companies that are given access to your computer by the free software and its provider

Tools > Internet Options > Delete Browsing History > Delete all. The Google search history is the form data so you could delete just the form data. If your not already using Firefox, I strongly recommend it. It's a much better and safer alternative to IE and you can set it up to clear the history each time you close the browser automatically. I also highly recommend CCleaner. CCleaner is free and removes all traces of your online activities. Remember to check off 'form data'.

I have Vista, so hopefully this will still work for you: 1. Go to Control Panel. 2. Switch to Classic View (on the top right corner). 3. Internet Options (3rd row down) 4. When the window pops up, you should be on the General tab. 5. Under Browsing History (2nd option down), click delete. Best of luck! =]
