Reguardless of the game you must find that your pc runs rather sluggish? This is easly resolved by making probably one of the cheapest and easiest upgrades to your pc. RAM =) The actual chip inside your PC is probably 512MB but your graphics card is using 64MB of that. Ram is generally cheap depending on the age of your computer. You could do with a memory upgrade as you barely have enough to run Windows XP. You should be looking at a minimum of 1GB. Your graphics card is slow but it should be OK for this game. You also need to make sure you have a lot of free hard disk space as the skipping is almost certainly because teh system is using your hard disk as virtual memory due to teh fact you do not have enough real memory..

Theres your answer, it says 512 ram recommended and you only have 448. There isn't much you can do except to make sure there are no other programs running in the background, that could make it slower.
