How to make different music symbols on computer?

How do you make those little symbols on the computer like the heart, diamond, and music note?

  • You know like, the heart, diamond, music note, happy face, etc... watev, but mainly I wanna know how to make a heart, or a star??? And please don't put the cheap versions either please don't, i wanna know how to make them, and not only as if I were typing, like as if I were signing up for something, like I dunno maybe it would be like this for the steps Ctrl+c+watev, thanx...

    there's certain "ALT" Codes (ex: Alt+1234) that create these symbols. Also, there is a font on your computer (like Arial, Times New Roman) called Webdings, the font consists of nothing but symbols, you may be able to find some in there. Also, just do a websearch for "ALT Symbols" there should be tons of listings.
