How do I record a show on my computer from TV with svga cable?

  • I usually watch my computer shows on my TV through a svga cable and audio hookup. I found an old Videotape that I want to transfer onto my computer but I dunno how to do this. My svga cable output my computer screen to my TV but I dunno if I can record a video playing on my TV directly onto my computer. HELp Ive got a pc with windows vista

    I'm told there used to be software to accomplish this task, but its been several years and I don't know if its even available now. There used to be a guy on radio in LA named Mr KFI, then changed to Mr KABC, and I think he had talked about this procedure back in the 90's. His name is Marc Germain and this is the latest link I found. Call him and see if he remembers how to do this. Sometimes he'll help...other times he says no. It won't hurt to try.
