How to rename Recycle Bin? Two My Computer!!?

  • My Recycle Bin has the title of My Computer now, but the icon is of Recycle Bin only! Now i am having two My Computer(s) on my desktop!! Help me.. how to rename The Recycle Bin to Recycle Bin or something else?? Thanks for your kind response!

    Other Microsoft Windows users Click Start / Run Type regedit and press enter. Open the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT folder Open the CLSID folder Open the {645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} folder Open the ShellFolder folder Change the "Attributes" data value from "40 01 00 20" to "50 01 00 20". Once completed change the "CallForAttributes" dword value to "0x00000000" (double-click and change value data to 0). You must change both of these values to get the rename to appear. After performing the above steps you will be able to rename the icon like any other icon. Right-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop and click Rename and rename it to whatever you wish.

Hi, You ought to be able to right click on the real Recycle Bin (despite its odd name) and select RENAME, then type the name you wish to appear. Regards, TgTips

Considering u to be a XP User: U can..: 1.''Right-click'' on your dektop 2.Then Select ''Properties'' 3.Click the ''Desktop'' tab 4.Click the ''Customize'' button 5.Click ''Restore Default'' 6.Now restart your computer --------------------------------------… (Not for you.. ) -- Considering your Operating system to be Windows VISTA.. U shall follow these easy steps. Please do not panic..lol as these wont be as tough as i can see the above answer! :D All u have to do for Vista user is: 1) Go to the Control Pannel from the START menu (Bottom left) 2)Then go to Control Panel and click on the Personalization options 3)With all the options on the right in the big white emphasized area, it's very easy to miss "Change desktop icons" near the top left 4)Click on that and you'll get this handy little dialog (recycle Bin) & there comes the new recycle bin icon on your desktop! U can now delete the previous one with a wrong name on it.
