How can I take away the Read-Only Attribute off a folder from an old HDD?
-
I recently got a new PC, and I put in my old hard drive. Though with my old desktop folder, I couldn't get into it at all. After hopping onto Safe-Mode as an Administrator, I took ownership (allowing all administrators) and allowed full control permissions. From here I could get into the folders. But now when I try to copy folders over to the new desktop, I'm still getting this message: Cannot copy <folder>: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. I looked into the properties and the Read-Only Attribute is there, when I uncheck it I simply get an "Access is denied" How can I take off the Read-Only Attribute? sorry for yapping on but I really need this stuff!
