How Many GB Should A Family Computer Have?

How do I nicely get my sister to stop downloaded GB's of Crap on my computer?

  • My computer only has about 70 GB if memory available. I just had it redone because there was a virus on there. Anyway, she downloads GB of crap and leaves in on the computer taking up space. First off I don't want another virus, second, there is barely enough space to download stuff for myself onl 4.6 MB and I still have programs to install. She has used 32 GB out of the 39 GB available on C drive. Should I make her account a limited user account and set a limit for what she downloads? I refused to install Limewire which she wanted, but she still uses Utorrent constantly. But I'm too nice to tell her to get her crap off. What should I do?

    i say you talk to her about this. shes gonna get the picture either way, best to talk face to face than to play a passive aggressive game. tell her if she cant control her downloads, then you will be forced to take action. and if thats the case, then block her account. otherwise, try to talk it over. you could also buy her an external hd for her bday or xmas or something, and only let her save things onto that space. just a thought.

Yes, block her account from downloading altogether.

Password protect your computer. If you have vista you can even put the download blocker on. There might even be a program for a download blocker you can use on XP. Try and google it!

Have her get a job to get herself a laptop or simply have her put her songs on CD's, then she can take her songs off your computer and listen to her CD's herself. Works great!!

buy an external hard drive and let her put all her stuff on it

set up a password onto your computer then you just type in the password and you only get to go o n it

I guess if you wanted to be nice about it you could buy her some DVDs or CDs to put all of the crap on.
