How do I text to someone's cell from my computer?

How can i text someones cell phone from my computer?

  • Answer:

It is possible. There are a lot of sites that do this. Test messaing over cellphones are called SMS - short Messaging Service. Lot of websites allow you to do this - for FREE or for a price. Try "SMS from computer" or similar search or yahoo, google, etc. As far as I remember www.sms.ac was one of the famous sites. In the US, t-mobile also offers free text messaing to their customers from their website. And BTW, if you use Yahoo! Messenger and your contacts have added their cell phone number added. U can txt message them right from Yahoo! messenger.

Send an email to the cell phone (See the source listed below).

Try the website of that "someone's" phone company. So if he is with Cingular, go to their webpage and see if they offer something to send sms. Or if you have a mobile phone yourself, try the webpage of your operator. He may as well offer Web to SMS.

You need to know the address for the particular carrier. Here are two I know.(Put the area code and number together in a 10 digit group, no spaces) Cingular: [email protected] ATT: [email protected] Note: Although Att and Cingular merged people who still have their ATT phones still use the mmode tag.
