Where can I buy Yahoo antivirus?

I am having trouble with my antivirus... can any1 help ?

  • like an hour or so ago i was looking for something on yahoo, and it took me to this website... and then, my mozilla firefox browse froze. then for some reason AVG antivirus, which is the one i used... stopped working... and the security center popped up and started saying i was unprotected, that i had no antivirus... and it started scanning... and it's asking me to purchase the windows xp 2010 antivirus... so i tried restarting the computer, see if it would allow me to run avg... it didn't... the same thing kept happening... the security center kept saying i am unprotected and whatever... then... i decided to try and reinstall avg... i deleted it from my computer, and then re-downloaded it... but when i try to run avg, it still won't... the annoying security center keeps popping up and what not... b4 i entered that site, i had been virus free... cuz i had just ran the antivirus yesterday, and i was perfectly fine... so what can i do to get avg running again? i can't purchase an antivirus, sigh, and avg had always worked fine for me... so i don't know what's going on.... can any1 help me how to turn off the security center thing and get avg to work? the shield icon of the security center keeps saying that i may have spywares and my computer may be monitored and privt information may be stolen also, i got my avg antivirus to open up, and it's scanning... however, it hasn't found any viruses, and the avg antivirus icon isn't appearing near the clock on my computer as it is supposed to... what's appearing is the security system icon... which keeps saying that i don't have an antivirus and my computer may be at risked... and asking me to buy the windows xp 2010 antivirus... can any1 help me to get it back to normal? p.s. i'm computer illiterate, so can u try to make it as simple as possible?

  • Answer:

Don't buy the crap that the pop-up is telling you to. The purpose of the malicious program creating the pop-up is to get you to do that. Just what will remove it? A program that might work is Malwarebytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org Oops, it looks like Matthew beat me to it with a link that says that but in more detail. And now seems to have disappeared. (?)

download "smitfraud fix" install, download "malwarebytes" install, when you follow the instructions on malwarebytes, change the folder to "malwarebytes.com" rathar than "malwarebytes.exe" your virus is going to pretend to mess up your computer. smitfruad should fix this, just follow the steps 1-5 and then disconnect your internet. you can do this first, then you wont have to change anything on the malwarebytes install. then run malwarebytes, then delete the infection cheers

Ok, I can tell you one thing there is no such thing as Windows XP 2010 anti-virus. That is the virus. It's a mean trick that hackers will use to get you to enter in your credit card number to buy there fake product. Chances are that the "windows security center" is also part of the illusion. So what you can do. When you boot up your computer that is at the very beginning hit f7 or f8 (it's different on most computer) select safe mode with networking. Now you will see abunch of random text don't freak out all it's saying is load the bare essentials and nothing else meaning no virus or adware will run. You will be booted into this wierd diagnostic mode from which you can run your AVG virus scan with no problems what so ever. If it doesn't pick it up make sure that it scans your internet temp files and system32 directory's virus like hanging out here.
