How do you set a webcam to record?

How do I re-enable my webcam?

  • I was sending a voice recording to my friend on msn, but I looked quite tired and messy as it was morning. Through the set-up, I clicked 'disable' because I thought it would send my friend a video of me looking like that, it's now disabled completely and I can't do video calls or webcam, and it says I don't own one. My webcam is built-in so I can't re-install it, I was told to go on audio and video settings, but I couldn't find them, or get it working again, and when I clicked on 'audio' on the chat box before it was disabled, it came up with a settings box, now it just says, 'to record your message, hold down the button' etc etc. Can anyone help me? I really want my webcam to be working again!! Thankyou :)

    Instead of disabling you could just a folder piece of paper to block the view. And I agree with the other guy.

You may have a dedicated button on your laptop keyboard - usually a combination of the Function (Fn) key and an F number (look for a camera symbol) otherwise open device manager http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article01-420 look under Imaging Devices for your webcam - select the Driver tab and re-enable the driver if it has been disabled see here http://i.imgur.com/kqUda.jpg
