FireFox - what is the best version?

  • I'm a Chrome user and its level of memory hogging/usage and footprint is getting ridiculous. I would like to switch to Firefox but I have been reading that even the latest firefox versions hog memory also. So I don't want to go from one browser only to find the same problem with the new one. But one thing is for sure, I want to dump Chrome for good (speed is important, but not everything). So in terms of Firefox, what was the last version that didn't use up so much memory? I would like to download that version, rather than go to the Firefox official page and download the latest. Thanks in advance.

    I've found that the Nightly (very latest) version takes the least memory. I've put the link in sources, but be warned that as it's beta (not completely tested) code, it may have some bugs. I personally haven't had any after using it for a few months, but it's always possible.
