How do you deleted your AIM account?

AIM help...it's almost as if my account was deleted! OMG help please! Was I hacked? All help appreciated......

  • So I was online for a while today and then I logged off. About an hour later, I decide to come bakc on; the AIM window opens. My sn is there, as well as my password. Also, the color of the window is the color that I chose it to be. So far so good. But then it keeps connecting, and it says "Invalid screen name or password." I said that I forgot my password, but it cannot grant my request. I try logging on with another account (my old account, which doesn't have as many buddies) and it works. So, it is almost as if this account was deleted! I don't know what happened. I didn't ever press a "Delete" button the last time I was logged on. It's freaking me out! Is anyone else having this problem? What do I do? Nobody knows my password...what do I do? Should I restart my computer? I have tried to click on "Exit AIM" , but then when I try again it doesn't work! What happened? Could I have been hacked? I am really scared....please, help me! What should I do? Will "Customer Support" help at all?

    Come down, it's just AIM jeeze... Has any 'admin' or something messaged you while you were online? Try the 'I forgot my password' Try signing into aol mail (with your aim), if it still says invalid password, then you either got hacked or your just not typing it right-- Check if CAPS is on Try typing all your info on notepad or something, just to make sure your keys aren't broke (yes i know thats kinda stupid, since you asked this question and most of it was spelled right xD If you've been downloading anything, scan your computer for a keylogger/ you could even have gotten it without download (sometimes visiting a site automatically downloads something without you knowing) I don't think customer support can help you much Hope thoes help, if you have any questions email me (dzenis77-yahoo) =] Good Luck

ummmm was caps lock on???? check the spelling of EVERYTHING. and if nothing works download aim agan and then try it

i woke up this morning and tried to sign on and it says connecting and after a while it says invalid username or password. i've tried it on different computers and on meebo as well. none of them worked. just like you, nobody knew my password and i tried different accounts and they worked i think it's an AIM problem cause more than one person is having this problem on the same day (like me and you and some other people who have answered this question) and they should have it fixed later on today or tomorrow. keep trying throughout the day if nothing works then we have to make a new one i guess sorry i couldnt be much help EDIT: mine started working now too!

The exact same thing is happening to me. Unfortunately, I don't have an old account to try, but eah, like you, I didn't do anything (that I know of) except try and sign on. Have no idea what to do though. Since it seems like neither of us did anything at our ends, I'm guessing it may just be a server problem. The 'forgot password' page isn't loading well either.

just to reassure anyone else, i am also having this problem. so yea i think its something with the aim program. edit: it just started working again for me!

There are two possibilities: 1. You are putting in the wrong username or password. Remember that AIM is case-sensitive. 2. Your account has been hacked. Get a new one or use your old one. Good luck!
