How to get emails back from Outlook Express?

How do I get my emails sent to Microsoft Outlook and not Outlook Express?

  • I have a computer with Outlook and Outlook Express. Both have the same email account with the exact same settings on them both, but for some reason only Outlook Express can send and receive emails. I have made Outlook my default email program. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Answer:

Delete your account in Outlook Close Outlook and reboot your computer Open Outlook and create a new account; the same account as you deleted (choose POP3). Make sure to test this account with the special button. If there are no errors, click Finish. You should get your test e-mail. Import your addresses and e-mails from Outlook Express and delete your account in Outlook Express. This should work. If not: e-mail error-messages etc. to me.

If your settings are the same you should be able to pick up your e-mail in either program by doing a send-and-receive in that program. I think there is also a utility in Outlook that allows you to import everything from Express. This might help.
