What is downloading?

Can i continue downloading while computer is shut down? If no what should I do to continue downloading?

  • Im downloading this game....and its kinda late....i got to go sleep...i want to cotinue downloading the game while im sleeping AND the computer turned off to save money...How can i do this?!? please help.... ty ^^

    Did I miss something here? Are you REALLY that ignorant of how your computer WORKS? Please explain to me how you think your computer can possibly continue to work if you turn the power OFF? You can NOT have your cake and eat it too! What you CAN do, is reduce the electrical load somewhat by turning the monitor OFF, but the rest has to stay ON... As Bugs Bunny would say... wottamaroon...

Not possible to do anything on the computer when it's off. If there's an option to turn off when it's done, that'd help a bit. Otherwise, just leave it on overnight. A little electricity used and nothing bad will happen to the computer.

If your aim is to save money, Leave the computer on, but turn off the Monitor, and any peripherals not being used (IE, Printer, Scanner, Wireless Keyboard & mouse...etc...etc) But make sure you leave on anything that connects your PC to the internet as well. Such as a cable modem, Dial up modem, or ISDN Device.

I think I have a solution. Turn off the monitor (this will save a lot of power). Additionally get a download manager so that you can make the dld faster and can pause and resume whenever needed. I got a nice dld manager from http://www.mdofpc.com/onlinestore/download-software-c-21.html it is far better than previous one I had.
