Why won't Minecraft work on my windows XP?

I cant get minecraft to work in windows 8 consumer preview?

• i just downloaded windows 8 consumer preview and I like it exept I cant get minecraft to work. it says to update video card drivers. I have 4 gb ram, and used to have windows 7 home premium, my system is 64 bit with intel core i3. I don't currently know what kind of video card I have. I have a Lenovo z560 thinkpad in case ur wondering I don't have a os disk or windows 7 still on my computer and I cant get it back heres the error report I get in minecraft::: Bad video card drivers! ----------------------- Minecraft was unable to start because it failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode. • Answer:

  The drivers for the graphic cards do not work on windows 8. Therefore, windows 8 downgrades your drivers to the basic ones. that is why it dosen't work :(
