Does mycleanpc.com work?

I'm not sure whether mycleanpc.com works or not, but WOT (Web of Trust) a free add-on for Mozilla Firefox states: "This site has a poor reputation." The following areas are all rated as Poor: Trustworthiness Vendor reliability Privacy Child safety

I've heard it's a scam, and got a low rep.

The short answer is yes. The long answers is what are your expectations. If someone writes 'It's a Scam' and gives no details, then it is probably a spammer from a competitor. Mycleanpc.com looks like a marketing site of Cyberdefender - a public company specializing in antimalware for non-technical computer users. That is where the expectations are, and why WOT and some other sites have such conflicting reviews with people calling it a scam and other who used the product giving positive reviews. Cyberdefender seems to really have two product Antimalware and a Registry cleaner. They marketing these with TV an radio, but sell the products via different websites. I understand this is done to track TV/Radio ad effectiveness. These different sites sell the same 2 products. I bought both, and as a non-technical user a year ago they were good products. They found and removed malware from my system (the trail is free, but you will have to buy the software to remove the bad stuff - typical for most software nowadays. Short answer - yes the product work. If you are a very technical user, you will want to use another program. If you are a non-technical user, the Mycleanpc/cyberdefender package comes with a 24/7 computer help line that could be quite valuable to such a user (it was for my Dad).
