How do you get a video you make on Windows Movie Maker onto Youtube?

Avi file windows movie maker codec download needed?

  • i'm trying to make a video on windows movie maker i'm trying to import my .avi files but it comes up with.... "The file ________.avi cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again." it works when i import an .avi video from my camera but it doesn't with videos i get off youtube.... please help cause i don't even know what a codec is so if you have a link where you can almost guarantee that i can import my .avi videos from youtube after downloading it then that would be AWESOME! :)

    go to free-codecs.com, and on the left-hand side there should be a list of codecs. go to the k-lite mega-pack of codecs and download it, then install it. you should be able to run pretty much any kind of video you can find. =]
