Why are Swiffy files incapable of sound on iPads?

When transferring AUP files and their related files, and played off my flashdrive into Audacity, sound stops.?

  • OKAY, so I am working on an Audio mashup for my computer class, and I have a problem. I wanted to transfer the project to my laptop via flash drive, and tried it two ways with much failure. Originally, I saved the project, all it's related files, etc. into one folder, and moved that onto the flash drive. No cigar, the files starts playing, shows all the sounds that I've edited, imported, etc. And yet plays no sound. After that fail, I saved the project on my flash drive and still, it didn't work. So any suggestions?

  • Answer:

Try this: If you save an Audacity file as "test1", the following happens: * A file called test1.aup is created * A folder called test1_data is created (in the same directory) The test1_data folder contains Audacitys work in progress sound files and when you open test1.aup it reads the files in this folder. If you open up test1.aup (in Notepad for example), you will see at the top of the gobbledegook in there that it has a reference to test1_data. Now if you open up the aup file you were talking about above, and look for the foder reference in the same way, you will probably find that the name it has is not pointing to the correct location. If you change this in Notepad to the correct one and save, it should be able to "see" the correct folder.
