What settings should I choose for Bandicam and Sony Vegas?
-
I may be recording anything from games to tutorials to commentary, and I'd like to know how these settings differ. BANDICAM 1) Audio Codec: MPEG-1 L2 and PCM - Choosing PCM removes the option to choose a bit-rate. Does that make it lower quality? My computer hasn't lagged recording with PCM yet, so if I want the best settings, do I want MPEG-1 L2? Also, since I recorded a video in PCM already, what bit-rate, frequency, and "bit-type" does it have? I seem to have the option of 16 or 24 bit for some render options, neither of which I understand or see on Bandicam. 2) Bit-Rate: All I've read is that 192 kbps is the highest .mp3 can achieve while CDs can achieve 256. I don't know what benefit going up to 384 yields, but I record at 60 FPS (Bandicam's highest setting) so that I can have the smoothest slow motion whenever/wherever I decide to use it. I'd like to know if bit-rate effects sound at different speeds 3) Frequency: Does this setting affect anything different than bit-rate? I always leave it at the 48k max for Bandicam. 4) Video Codec: MPEG-1, Motion JPEG, Xvid, YV12, and RGB24 - I'd assume I go with Motion JPEG for the best quality (according to a small Bandicam guide I found). File size isn't an issue since I'll be clipping out what I want. What're the disadvantages to the other types? Also, why is my file type .avi when I use Motion JPEG? SONY VEGAS 11.0 Render As: I know very little about the vast number of varying "Render As" options. How can I render the clips I want from over an hour of recording to keep everything Bandicam has? I want to keep my 60 FPS (for possible slow motion), my 1080p quality (I recorded at 100/100 quality, which I assume is 1080p, which is my screen-type), and whatever audio setting I have. I'd prefer to know the "best" option(s) for the highest possible quality (my computer hasn't struggled yet) so that I can keep my data files completely editable. I'd also like to know the best "final project" file type where I won't be editing so I can post my video on YouTube or have it available for download off Mediafire. I'm not sure if these videos are going to YouTube or Mediafire or what, so a quick breakdown on "best" files types regardless of size and "best" files types where size is an issue would be appreciated. WOW that's a long question. Please answer as much as you can!
