Why my volume is gone from my computer?

The volume control icon is gone? Help!?

  • On account of it, I think the whole thing is gone! I've looked everywhere and even searched this question online. I've looked in Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices >Volume tab. But when I go to click on the volume tab everything that is supposed to be click-able is all gray and I can't click on it. Also tried: All programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Volum… Control. It's not there >_< And my speakers are plugged in and everything, and it's not working. A few days ago my cousin was on my computer and I think she did something to it. She told me that she had restarted my computer so it could run faster...and so now I can't find the volume button in the task bar, anywhere. What do I do? Do I have to get some "motherboard" cd and redownload the volume button? I am so confused when It comes to computers and downloading stuff like this, ugh >_< Help?

  • Answer:

Try this: 1. Right-click on the taskbar or clock 2. Select 'properties' from the context menu 3. Click on the 'Notification Area' tab 4. Check the volume icon checkbox 5. Click 'Apply' then 'OK'
