How do I get rid of unwanted pop up icon on tool bar?

• how do I get rid of unwanted & univited popup icon on my toolbar. The offender is virusprotect 3.9. (http://www.virprotect.com/?aff=1012) Im running xp professional. Ive deleated the desk top icons. have delated from:- c\:documents & setting\owner\start up\programs also from c\:program files. Have deleted from internet options home page. Have emptyed recycle bin, deleted internet history, cookies ect. Have ran search all files and folders. Have ran my anti virus, .ran my anti spy waire. Have rebooted but the nasty little tool bar pop up icon is still here driving me crazy... pop up message...systems alert plz plz plz can some one help me e-mail:- [email protected]

  Hi, if this is a desktop hijack you need to look that up in the browser. 'Desktop Hijack' There are a lot of removal tools. There is also a lot of information available on 'browser hijack'. Either way, what you have is a trojan that bypasses anti virus software. Download a tool and run it then take a note of the exact file name of the trojan. Use Windows search to find and delete the file for free. If it says that the file is in use and cannot be deleted, you need to open an new administrative account and delete through the other account. It will delete the trojan.
